DR. ROBERT C. WHEELOCK

Our Clinic Director is a 1974 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic and has been practicing at Burlington Family Chiropractic since then, specializing in light touch adjustments. Through the years he has been a member of many professional groups including The International Chiropractic Association, The International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultants, Parker Chiropractic Research Foundation, and The Wisconsin Chiropractic Association, from whom he received many awards including the R.J. Teuteberg Memorial Award for his student support and recruitment. He has also been active in local service groups, which include the Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, and Wisconsin Citizens Concerned for Life, and has been actively involved with his church. He has done public speaking and has appeared on TV and radio striving to educate the public about chiropractic. He has hundreds of continuing education hours in x-ray, diagnosis and adjusting techniques & procedures.

Dr. Wheelock’s passion is getting his patients out of pain as quickly as possible with quality chiropractic adjustments. He then strives to raise those patients’ awareness of modern developments in wellness care enabling them to experience optimal health. He enjoys speaking to local civic and school groups on Chiropractic and Wellness.

Alongside her husband, Lonna Wheelock has been actively involved with the operation and growth of Burlington Family Chiropractic throughout the years. Together they’ve raised four daughters.

EDUCATION

Received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in Missouri in October of 1974 after obtaining his pre-chiropractic education from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Is Proficiency Rated in Activator Methods Technique Has completed in excess of 1000 Continuing Education Hours.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Joined Dr. M. Neill Schaub at the present location of 196 West Chestnut Street in Burlington after graduation. Schaub/Wheelock Clinic became Wheelock Chiropractic Clinic after Dr. Schaub’s retirement in 1990 and has recently been renamed Burlington Family Chiropractic. Dr. Wheelock has 32 years of experience caring for patients. He specializes in light-touch Activator adjustments.

International Chiropractic Association International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultants Parker Chiropractic Research Foundation Wisconsin Chiropractic Association Dr. Wheelock served on the Board of Directors for 6 years, during which time; he acted as Secretary, Chaired the Student Relations Committee and the Membership Committee, and served on the Wisconsin Peer Review Board and Public Relations Board. Dr. Wheelock has often been asked to speak with the newly graduated chiropractors at the Wisconsin Board of Examinations as a representative of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association. In addition, Dr. Wheelock was President of the Southeastern Wisconsin District.

 DR. TERRY J. DOBBS

A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1995, Dr. Dobbs has been practicing at our clinic since graduating, and became a partner in 2001.  His own personal experience with Sciatica as a college athlete offers him a personal knowledge when treating this crippling disability.  Having dealt with the excruciating pain of this condition himself, Dr. Dobbs understands that pain relief is his initial goal for patients.  As with any condition, pain can affect every aspect of a person's life - physically and emotionally.  His advanced study on a variety of techniques and procedures allows him to help patients from pediatric to geriatric.

Beyond pain relief, Dr. Dobbs' emphasis is on prevention and wellness.  His knowledge of exercise, nutrition, and stress management allows his patients to reach their optimal health.  Every patient, regardless of age, deserves to live a healthy life.

Dr. Dobbs and his wife Becky reside in Burlington.  They are parents of three children:  Jesse, Jenna, and Kalli.   They are very active in a variety of special interest youth organizations.

DR. ALAN D. MEIKE

A 1995 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Meike has been with our clinic since graduation. Prior to enrolling at Palmer, he received his bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Pepperdine University. He has also done post-graduate work in the chiropractic treatment of sports injuries. His greatest joy in chiropractic is in taking care of the entire family, and in treating athletes of all ages.

Dr. Meike has been a member of the Lauderdale Aqua Skiers Water Ski Show Team since the age of seven. He continues today to perform and compete. He presently resides in Burlington with his wife Michelle and their three young children.
